Number Close

The woman (target) gives you her phone number to stay in contact with you.

There are different reasons why she gives out her phone number. The best one is to plan a date with you, the worst ones are that you lied about being someone who could help her because your in the film, music, model business.

A number close should only be used, if it's not possible to continue the interaction, for example: her girlfriends try to take her away (cockblocks), her bus is coming, your girlfriend comes back from the toilette etc...

To avoid that she flakes, you should try to make an instant date with her, keep it interesting and build some rapport, so it will be much easier to see her again.

Example

You: "My train leaves in five minutes, but I'd like to keep talking. Put your number in my phone and I'll text you, so you have mine too."
(She types it in. You send a short text right away.)
You: "Hi, it's Tom from the platform. Are you free Thursday evening for a coffee?"

How to do it

• Build some rapport first. Asking in the first minute feels abrupt.
• Ask directly and with a smile, and hand her your phone instead of making her recite digits.
• Text her on the spot, so you know the number is real and she has yours.
• Suggest a concrete plan, ideally a short one such as a coffee, within a day or two. This lowers the chance she flakes.

Common mistakes

Asking too early, texting long chats instead of a date plan and ignoring signs of disinterest are the usual ones. If she hesitates, offers a different contact or says no, accept it and do not push.
