An Average Frustrated Chump is a guy who simply has no clue as to how to attract a female. He has very few option in his dating life and his experiences with women are few and far between. At best, he has gotten lucky every once in a while through no real initiation of his own, or has been in a relationship with a girl for a long period of time but doesn’t know what to do now that it is over.
An AFC will often hold mythical or counterproductive views about how to interact with or attract women. This could mean that they think that girls don’t like sex as much as guys, that girls need to be wined and dined constantly or brought flowers every week. This could be other things like believing that their physical looks are a big deal or that they are too short, too tall, too fat or too shy to attract girls. They will typically hold the view that going up to girls in clubs is ‘annoying’ to girls or ‘harassing’ them. They might well have the belief that some guys are just born good with women – that they’ve ‘got it’, whereas they themselves haven’t.
AFC’s can broadly be categorised under two different types:
1. Socially competent AFC: These guys are already fairly normal, cool people, who have good social skills and can interact in comfort with a variety of different people. However, they lack confidence and conviction when it comes to women. They can talk to girls no problem, but they are nervous or anxious about approaching or expressing any interest or intent towards a girl. This kind of guy is already half way there, but needs a little push to get him over a few stumbling blocks.
2. Socially incompetent AFC: Guys who needs a lot of work. They are awkward in general, regardless of who they are talking to. They lack social intelligence or calibration. They are the archetypical geeky guy who lives in grandma’s basement, that spends all his time playing computer games and reading comics (not that there’s anything wrong with comics or computer games!). This kind of guy needs a lot of work with interacting with people (not just girls), and is at the extreme end of the AFC spectrum.
What these groups (and everyone in between) have in common is the feeling of having no control over their dating lives. They feel they have to settle for either having no girlfriends, partners, sex etc… or settling down with the first girl that comes along – usually a girl that they are not really attracted to but too scared to lose due to a lack of other options. This is the very essence of the Average Frustrated Chump.
