Charlie Houpert (Charisma on Command)

Charlie Houpert says he was a painfully shy young man who set out to learn how charisma works and then teach it. He lived in New York and later in Rio de Janeiro while building Charisma on Command, which started as an online business and grew into one of the best-known social skills channels on YouTube.

Approach

Charisma on Command treats charisma as a skill that can be learned: presence, warmth, confident body language and conversation. The paid course, Charisma University, takes members through these ideas, and the free videos reach a far larger audience. The material is about confidence and social skills in general, including dating, and not about pickup.

Books and work

His book Charisma on Command: Inspire, Impress, and Energize Everyone You Meet presents the same ideas in print, and he has also written about dating under the title The Anti Pick Up Line. He founded the company with Ben Altman and later became its sole owner.

Today

In recent years Houpert has said he wants to explore the roots of confidence through psychology and embodiment practices. He runs a podcast and a YouTube series alongside the main channel.
