Matthew Hussey

Matthew Hussey grew up in Essex, England, and began working as a life coach in his late teens. He first coached men on dating, then switched to women in 2008 and built his Get The Guy brand around that audience. In 2010 he moved to the United States.

Approach

Hussey teaches women how to meet people, read mixed signals and raise their standards in dating. Get The Guy offers online courses, live seminars and retreats, and he reaches a wider public through YouTube, a podcast and a column in Cosmopolitan that has run since 2015. He has also appeared on television as a love expert, including as a matchmaker on the NBC series Ready for Love.

Books

His first book, Get The Guy (2013), was a New York Times bestseller. Love Life: How to Raise Your Standards, Find Your Person, and Live Happily (No Matter What) (Harper, 2024) debuted at number three on the same newspaper’s advice chart.

Reception

The high prices of his private coaching and seminars have drawn comment in the press. He remains one of the best-known dating coaches for women in the English-speaking world.
