Natalie Lue was born in Britain, grew up in Dublin and lives in Surrey, near London. She founded Baggage Reclaim, which has become one of the longest-running self-help blogs, and her work draws on her own experiences and those of her readers.

Approach

Lue writes about relationships from the point of view of the person who stays too long with a partner who is emotionally unavailable. Her topics are boundaries, self-esteem, breakups, people-pleasing and learning to trust your own judgement. She does not teach attraction or pickup techniques; her focus is on recognizing patterns, saying no and rebuilding after a bad relationship.

Books and work

Her best-known book is Mr Unavailable and the Fallback Girl, a guide to relationships with emotionally unavailable men. The Joy of Saying No was published by Harper Horizon in January 2023. Besides the site and books she hosts the podcast The Baggage Reclaim Sessions.

Reception
