Anti-Slut Defense

An ASD is a method used by a girl to abstain herself from responsibility during a situation where there is a likelihood of sex/intimacy.

This is similar to LMR (Last Minute Resistance) but usually occurs in a public place. Often an ASD will come in the form of a girl rejecting your attempts to kiss her or get physical with her, or it might come in the form of her appearing (or trying to appear) disinterested in you. A girl who demonstrates ASD behaviour is doing so as a result of the environment around her. She does not want to be judged by those people in the environment in which she is in. This judgement can come directly from her friends, or even from you. In the latter case, she does not want to present herself to you as ‘easy’ or ‘slutty’. This is actually a good indication that she likes you. She wants you to like her and view her positively and not judge her or hold her in a negative light.

How to avoid an ASD

In order to avoid eliciting an ASD from a girl, it is important that you take responsibility away from the girl. In practice, this means removing her from the environment where she feels she might be judged, and taking her somewhere without the judgmental social pressure. If you are in the club, try to isolate her one-on-one for a few minutes. Getting her away from her friends is key. Once alone, you need to let her know she isn’t being judged. Try something like this, “Wait… quickly… whilst your friends aren’t looking…” then go for the kiss. By demonstrating that no one is there to judge, as well as by creating a sense of urgency (which creates excitement), you should be able to pull the trigger more successfully.

Again, the key is to remove all responsibility from the girl and take charge. Often times when explaining how they hooked up with someone, a girl will say, “I don’t know, it just happened!”. Find a solution to the situation – if you want to leave the club but she is being difficult, remove the responsibility from her – “2 minutes, I just want to grab some food/a smoke”. As with LMR, never be aggressive, forceful or pressure the girl.
